We took a trip on our vacation from our vacation to Pisa! It's really nice and slow compared to Rome (as is Florence). I did climb to the top of the bell tower which was a highlight of the trip, and we took a tour of the baptismal and the cathedral. Again, I would love to post pictures but the internet connection is not good here.
Unfortunately we were unable to climb the Basilica di Santa Maria duoma due to freak downpours yesterday and being late today, so I might take the train back to Florence to do that. I love stairs! But we went shopping and had a 3 course dinner at Teatro Zin Zin (again) and I had eggplant parmesan, ravioli with nut sauce and apple cake. We had the wonderful fortune of happening on a rehearsal of an orchestra/choir conducted by Zubin Mehta in the nearby piazza, and we saw the performance tonight (free!)(Tsiolkovsky's war of 1812 piece was the finale Hannah). It was one of the most perfect evenings conceivable, but I'm so tired right now!
I can't comment on the blog posts, so I will not be submitting replies to any comments):
Did they have real cannons for the War of 1812? Way cool Ellen!
