Last day!

The program is over and we had our final dinner, and everyone is getting ready to leave early tomorrow morning.  But yesterday we went to Sperlonga and had the most marvelous day at the beach.  It was so beautiful and Mediterranean it seemed fake, but there we were. I brought a volleyball and got people to play it even though it was very windy.
Last night and this morning I finished a card for Mona and spent the day shopping and taking care of the apartment.  Our dinner was fantastic but sad.

Sunday through Tuesday

As of now I'm officially done with the class.  I finished my paper for Mona on Sunday and turned it in on Monday, then today we had our 'final test' (not really Mona cancelled it instead Leeran programmed/developed/presided a jeopardy game.  Hilarious).  I have my interview with the odegaard writing center at 8 pm, which I really hope goes well.

So all that's left is going to the beach (Sperlonga) tomorrow and hopefully a trip to the maxxi (muse d'arte XXI century) on Thursday.  My flight has been changed to Friday morning instead of Saturday, so I should be back Friday evening.

Melanzane pizza at Da Poesie.  Probably the best I've had here!

 Ali at Da Poesie!
On the way back, the view from the ponte sisto.
Gioliti too many days in a row.  This is champagne and cherry with panna!
 Greyhounds of Italy.  Show Breeze.

A store on the designer street by the Spanish steps.  I'm a nerd.
Gioliti's again today! Mona took us.  This time I got riso, yogurt, and pesche (rice yogurt and peach) SO GOOD
I returned to the French Caravaggio church today.

Last tour and Indian food dinner!

It's been an amazing week, unfortunately my charger is not working and I won't be able to get on the computer very much, thus will be skyping/messaging/blogging less.  Anyways, I can't believe there's only a week left!  I miss everyone but it will be sad to leave Rome ):

 Interio of St. Ignazio's/
The dome was never completed, so this is a tromp l'oeil one.
Churches of the world.  Grandma and papa would like this!
Ducks, turtles, and fish as Villa Adriana, Hadrian's villa in the the 2nd century

Banquet hall.  The guests couldn't look at the emporer, who sat at the opposite end...

Statues from the area, with some contemporary art!
Jack the dog, where we had pizza.

 So fat!
Villa D'Este! The garden of a thousand fountains.  So extravagant and maybe my favorite place so far.

The organ fountain!  Used to actually play music using water pressure

Mannerist geometry, baroque idea of nature become art, and water taking on so many forms.
